Our Concrete+ pools aren’t the normal “Concrete Pools” you might be sold by others. We offer a Hybrid Concrete PLUS product that merges the flexibility of a concrete pool, with a Epoxy and Polymer surface that reduces maintenance. This is where we do a basic plaster finish, then roll out a two part epoxy (similar to epoxy garage floors known for strength and stain resistance), and then use a large flame thrower to melt a polymer into the epoxy sealing the plaster and concrete pores and keeping the concrete chemicals from leaching into the water.
Don’t be fooled that a basic concrete pool, which isn’t waterproof until the finish is applied like Plaster, will be easy to maintain and never stain. Plaster pools have their own set of issues, in the form of a long and complicated start-up process (Hot-Start), as well as staining, shrinking, and cracking problems. ecoFINISH was scientifically developed to present a solution to these pool finish problems.
One of the great things we like about the ecoFINISH concrete pool coating system is it’s 22 different colors, and that the epoxy coating helps further seal the concrete pool from any small cracks that most builders can’t see or find, and usually blame the small water loss on evaporation.
What ecoFINISH can’t fix is the concrete cure process itself. Concrete pools take longer to install than fiberglass pools because concrete itself has changed chemically due to new regulations which makes concrete more prone to crack if not allowed to properly cure. The old concrete blends were more forgiving if the concrete wasn’t wet daily and allowed to off gas for 28 days before any tile or plaster applied. Any concrete pool company suggesting a 6 week install is not following EVERY concrete manufactures guidelines of allowing the concrete shell 28 days to cure before coating with plaster. These fast concrete installs have a much higher chance at developing small cracks and leaks between the plaster layer and the concrete layer as the concrete off-gasses (burps) causing bubbles that eventually pop.
Basically, the best time to buy is in Fall and Winter in order to be swimming by summer. We can install a concrete pool as fast as a fiberglass pool but then you would have no warranty against cracks.
Our process:
- Fill out the Contact Us form in the link above
- Within two business days you’ll receive a e-mail with more information and a request for you to send us your survey. You must have a survey submitted before we do any onsite consultations to help us get as much information up front as possible for less errors.
- Once we get the survey we’ll be in touch by e-mail or phone to get the size pool you are looking for and any options like swim ledges or maybe add one of our fiberglass overflow spas with a blower which is far more comfortable than a hard sharp edged concrete spa.
- We send you a rough quote on cost and if you agree to the rough budget we schedule an onsite visit to mark out the pool and deck so you can walk the design and see the shape in person!
- The Concrete pool deposit is only $6,000, one of the smallest deposit amounts in the industry. Pettit Pools brand has not changed since 1981 and since we are also a fiberglass pool shell factory, we are one of the largest pool contactors by asset size. These assets matter, we aren’t leasing a space and a truck and own nothing.
- We then work up a Site Plan and submit to you for final approval then it goes to our engineers to review and make sure everything meets Florida Building Code.
- We can use third party inspectors for speed, OR county / city inspectors if you want to be safe, completely up to you!
