Fiberglass Pool Resurfacing
First, It is a $400 fee for us to come out and do a well point check to 3’ with post hole digger, do a quick leak detection around returns and skimmer, and look over the pool to see if any bumps or cracks. This is an initial fee that is paid prior to the onsite visit to help us baseline your pool and before a final quote can be given.
Resurface: We offer two different resurface options. Gelcoat is the most flexible coating, but easier to stain. Epoxy is stronger, and you can use harsher chemicals with it, but is prone to hairline cracks.
- Gelcoat (16 colors) = $21 per sq.ft (1 year labor & 2-year parts warranty)
- Epoxy (10 colors) = $26 per sq.ft (1 year labor & 5-year parts warranty)
Patch & Grind: Price does not include any bump, chip, or crack repair. If you need repair work, our Patch & Grind costs $165 per hour (includes mileage, consumables & two workers) 8 hour minimum including drive time. Basically, $1,320.00 per day all inclusive with two workers.
Well Pointing: Price does not include well pointing service or Pool Displacement insurance. This is an extra $3,500 if we need to well point for 3 days prior to draining the pool. Usually, most customers just wait to middle of dry season if water level hit when there is no ground water at 6’ or higher.
Included in standard option above (Scope of work):
- Up to 40 labor man hours including drive time from Port Richey FL.
- Documentation update (pool chemistry, any bows in wall, any cracks visible, any leaks detected)
- Sump Pump drain pool
- Compressor, Vacuum, Sander & pads, Grinder & pads
- Minor gelcoat repair of one hour.
- Anything more than that, and we’d have to charge the full day rate for repair of $1,320.00 per day.
- Pictures and document condition of pool surface & fittings after drain but prior to work done.
- 1 spreader bar to support the deep end walls.
- Sand down entire gelcoat surface at least 10mils
- Acid power wash and rinse
- Clean and tape off pool edge (Tape might peel up old concrete paint which is an added charge if needed to repair)
- Our factory Gelcoat rolled on (will have a roll texture) at least 10mils thick
- Next day pool cleaning bringing all 4 main chemical readings back to normal.
- Documentation update
- Disposal of trash
Examples of what is not included in the standard price but is considered an upgrade if desired.
- Cost to refill the pool, including babysitting the water hose. You will have to turn the water off when it reaches middle of skimmer.
- Patch & Grind: $1,320.00 per day all-inclusive of two guys.
- Any Pool Tech work: $100 per man hour to repair returns, skimmer, spa jets plus parts.
- Well Pointing and Pool Displacement insurance: $3,500
- Electricity for sanders & Sump Pump
- Pumice additive for steps, if you want more non-slip, we can add Pumice to the steps: $300
- Vinyl Ester Skin Coat prior to Gelcoat if you want additional protection from osmotic blisters:$2,000 (your pool age was before Vinyl Ester was used and is mostly an issue if PH goes above 8.5).
